Congrats to longtime Wilhoit Kicker Will Reichard (pictured right) from Hoover, Alabama as he commits to his childhood favorite the University of Alabama. The consensus #1 kicker in the country was courted by the best teams in the country including Georgia, Oregon and LSU. Will has trained with me since 6th grade. His father, Gary, would drive him to Mt Juliet High School to train with me approximately 5-6 times a year. The first time I saw a video of Will I could tell he was going to be a special talent. What I didn’t know at the time was his drive to be the best.

Here is a video of Will kicking in one of the first sessions we ever did…

Early Training with Will Reichard

Will continued to impress as a kicker. He always had a desire to compete and was named an FBU All American at a young age. You can always see the balance and fluidity he had in his kicking motion. Here is a video of Will kicking at my annual Saturday Night Lights Camp.

Will had to deal with a traumatic event when he lost his father, Gary, in 2016 to pancreatic cancer. Pretty soon after that Will tore his ACL and had kicking taken away from him. Throughout that time he kept working and never lost his desire. The loss of his father was one of the toughest things I have ever seen a young guy go through. His father sent me a text message just weeks before his death and told me his condition. I remember sitting in my classroom in Mt Juliet and not saying a word. Gary was a great man who loved his son.

Young kickers should watch and learn from a young man who is wise beyond his years. I couldn’t be more proud of Will and his accomplishments. Even though I am a die hard Vols fan I will be a Will Reichard fan anytime he is on the field with the Crimson Tide.

Excited to follow his career at Alabama and continue training him through college and beyond!
