Kickers in the state of Tennessee are continue to improve at a record pace as this is the 4th year in a row a Wilhoit kicker has won the Mr. Football Kicker of the Year Award for the state of Tennessee. There are many reasons for the improvement but one of them certainly has to be organized and effective kicking training.

Jacob Smith (pictured above) won the 2016 Mr Football Award with an outstanding year. He hit 12/14 field goals including a long of 55 yards with 98% touchbacks on kickoffs. What makes winning this year’s award so impressive is the competition across the state.

Notable Performances in the state:

Adam Williams (Wilson Central HS)- Hit 16-18 field goals with 5 kicks over 50 yards & averaged 48 yards a punt

Jake McClure (East Hamilton)- Committed to Oklahoma St on full ride & made a 56 yard field goal this year

Jacob Bailey  (Mt Juliet)- Nominated as the kicker for the East/West All Star Game & Made a 56 yard field goal

Tucker Day  (Brentwood)- Has offers from Colorado St & San Diego St. Helped his team to the Semi Finals with an amazing year

I’m very excited for the future of these young men. They will have the opportunity to further their careers and get a free education. All of this comes from hard work and commitment. It takes hours on the field honing their craft and work in the weight room.
